Nintendo of Japan is planning on creating a big celebration in honor of Nintendo's biggest mascot, Mario! This gaming legend was born on September 13, 1985 in a small office. Named 'Jumpman' at first, his name was later changed to 'Mario', being named after the Nintendo building's landlord.
With the big celebration in under a month, Nintendo of Japan has released a microsite to pay tribute to our favorite gaming hero. Although the site doesn't show much now, other than a pair of hands playing with a Famicom controller, more is sure to come in the weeks before the birthday bash. So far, a couple of the new videos have shown the controller slowly change in a Gameboy Micro styled after the original Famicom controller.
If anything important appears on the site, we'll let you know. A few sites have speculated that come September 13, some new Revolution will be given to us. What better time to spill the beans than on Marios birthday?
