Today at E3, Nintendo held its press conference at 9:50 PST. This press conference introduced many new factors into the Nintendo world, as well as some well awaited games that everyone has wanted to hear more about!

The conference begins late, as Nintendo is always fashionably late. When Nintendo arrives, the conference begins with a Nintendo introduction video. Reggie begins speaking to the crowd saying, "We remain about the games. My name is Reggie, we're about kicking ass." Then Iwata comes onto stage and begins talking about how much he loves playing games. He speaks of playing Super Smash Bros. Melee last night, and says how he beat his friend Reggie. Iwata then asks Reggie "Who's your daddy?" and a video begins to play.

The video shows footage of upcoming Nintendo games. It features Geist, ElectroPlankton, Nintendogs, Mario Kart, Zelda, Killer 7, Viewtiful Joe DS, Madden, and Batallion Wars. After this video, Reggie promises that there will be new information on new gameplay for the DS, and of course the awaited DS.

Reggie then jokes around about the specs of the Xbox 360, and tells people to remember 1 more number. He says the number 2. What he means is the fact that there are 2 billion Nintendo games sold in Nintendo's 20 year run. And Reggie says that this is just the beginning of Nintendo's revolution.

Next, Reggie begins talking about there are 2 types of companies. There are "and" companies, and "or" companies. Nintendo is an "and" company because it accepts all gamers, AND people who do not consider themselves a gamer. He shows this using the awaited DS game Electroplankton as an example.

Reggie then brings in a top DJ to demonstrate the capabilities of Electroplankton's music, and he does a live performance. The DJ composed entire tracks just using the sounds from the DS unit.

Reggie then returns onto the stage and says Nintendo didn't invent the Online gaming concept, but they do intend to re-invent it. Reggie says Nintendo has partnered up with IGN's Gamespy division to give gamers wireless online gameplay. Reggie says it will be simple using hotspots all around the world. As well as that, Reggie says he believes 90% of all DS owners will be online using playing DS titles. Reggie then mentions 3 games. Mario Kart DS, Animal Crossing DS, and Tony Hawk Pro Skater. He says these 3 titles will be coming to the online DS gaming world, and that Mario Kart DS and Animal Crossing DS are intended to be released on the DS using its online feature by the end of this year. As well as that, there are 25 developers worldwide working on various games that will be using the online feature for the DS.

Nintendogs is the next game to be mentioned by Reggie. Reggie says it is the most popular DS game in Japan selling 400,000 copies in the first month it was released. Reggie then says the DS outsold the PSP in Japan by a factor of 3. He then introduces Tina Wood from G4 onto the stage to demonstrate the game Nintendogs.

Tina begins by showing her pug Mia off to the audience, and telling Mia to say hello. The pug then moves its mouth and puts its paw onto the screen. Then Tina tells Mia to lay down, and the dog lays down on the ground. Tina then says how the feature of teaching your dog is cool because you can name a trick after anything. So Tina says "new Zelda" 3 times, and the dog shows no response. The audience guesses Tina didn't teach that trick too well. Then Mia shows how you can interact with the dog by giving it a bath, and decides to try to find another dog for Mia to play with by using the Wi-fi feature.

Tina closes her DS, and then hears a bark sound which means Mia found a friend to play with. A dog named Mario shows up, and Tina has a message from Bill Trinen. Tina listens to the message, and wonders who could have sent it. Miyamoto then walks onto the stage A lot of applause comes from the audience, and then Miyamoto shows what his dog Mario can do. Mario does a handstand, and then mounts on Mia. Then Miyamoto says to Tina, "Would you like me to show you a few more tricks?" She says yes. He replies: "Then please follow me backstage." Laughter comes from the audience as they leave the stage.

Reggie then re-mentions that he promised that there would be 2 new systems shown today. Reggie then reaches into his pocket, and pulls out a very small system. He reveals it as the Game Boy Micro. This system is slightly bigger than an Ipod mini, and 2/3 of the weight of an Ipod mini. Reggie than states that it may not be new technology, but it has the brightest screen ever put into a Nintendo system, and it can fit into any pocket. Reggie also says this is not a successor to the GBA or the DS, but just an extension of technology. The system can also be customized with changeable face plates, and it will be coming to stores this fall.

Reggie then states again that games are the most important part, and another video full of previews begins to show again. The video features Fire Emblem, Yoshi Topsy Turvy, Pokemon Emerald, Nintendogs, Mega Man Battle Network 5, Mario Kart DS, Need for Speed DS, Pac'n Roll, Trace Memory. Phoenix Wright, GoldenEye, Mario and Luigi 2, Advance Wars Dual Strike, Spyro, Kirby Kanvas Curse, Meteos, New Super Mario Bros., Castlevania, Trauma Center, and Viewtiful Joe DS.

Iwata appears on stage again, and introduces the Nintendo Revolution. He then holds up the console being about the size of a Mac Mini computer. Iwata says it is the smallest home console that Nintendo has ever manufactured. As well as that, Iwata mentions that the system he is showng is a prototype, and the actual system will be smaller. The console will be able to play 12 cm DVD size discs, as well as GCN discs. It will be roughly the size of 3 DVD cases stacked on top of one another. Also, attachments can be bought for the Revolution so that DVDs can be played on the system. Also, the Revolution will have 512 MB on onboard flash memory, as well as the option to use memory cards. As well as that, Iwata then says that Wi-fi will be built into every Nintendo console so that controllers, TV, console and internet can all work together. Nintendo intends to create a device that will appeal to every member in the household. All of the controllers will be wireless, and Iwata mentions that there are several Revolution games in development. Super Smash Bros. will be a launch game with wi-fi.

Iwata also mentions that Miyamoto is pushing his team to create new and incredible titles for the Revolution. Big franchises will be on the Revolution, and Iwata mentions Mario and Metroid. Then a very short Metroid clip showing Metroid Prime 3 appears, and Samus is shown in front of her newly designed ship. Iwata then mentions how Square Enix is already working on a new Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles game.

Iwata then says that game development will be easier and much lest costly than on other consoles. "Big ideas can prevail over a big budget." Iwata then begins speaking about backwards compatibility on the system, and how the Revolution will redefine backwards compatibility on the system. It is a virtual console, able to download games from the NES, SNES, and N64 era. You can virtually download any Nintendo game ever created from these eras. Iwata then points out, "Revolution shares a vision with DS. The machine is just a tool for software."

Iwata then says how the Revolution will fully serve core gamers. Iwata then says, "We will attract casual gamers using consumer friendly content control and internet. And we will even draw non-gamers to our Revolution showing them how much fun there is and what we all do already. We call this 'all-access gaming'. Iwata then concludes by saying how gamers touch his heart when the pick up a controller, play a game, and love it.

He starts off showing a clip of Battalion Wars, and talking about how gamers will go through over 20 missions in this Real time action game. As was mentioned, Link is shown as never seen before, and he turns into a wolf during the trailer. The crowd goes ballistic during the preview.

To conclude the press conference, Reggie is back on stage, and introduces the developer of the new Zelda game, Eiji Aunoma to stage.
