Earlier today, Nintendo gave the official word that Metroid Prime Hunters for the DS was indeed delayed again. The new release date was said to be sometime in Quarter 1 of 2006. No other details were given as to why another delay was made, but we'll probably know soon enough.

At first, this title was to be one of the DS' launch titles back in November 2004. The game was delayed with an unkown release date. In E3 this year, the title gave an impressive appearance at the show, with a release date of fall 2005. From that time, we knew that the game will not support Nintendo's wi-fi service and was only LAN (Local Area Network).

There weren't any other details with the announcement of the new delay, other than the Q1 release date. Some people have speculated that Nintendo may have decided to make the game Wi-Fi compatible. Then again, others have said this delay is due to Nintendo trying to avoid a collision-course by releasing this game around the same time as other hot DS titles such as Animal Crossing DS and Mario Kart DS.

Like I said, we can't know for sure what Nintendo is planning just yet, but we can expect some more information in short time. We'll keep you posted if any news comes up on the subject.
