So we've heard it many times. Video games rot our brains. Whether or not that really is true, now we finally have a game that is proven to make your brain... well... stronger!

Welcome to Brain Age: Train your brain in minutes a day. As the name implies, its not so much a game as it is more an exercise. Brain Age hits you with a series of different "mini-game" puzzles that simply force you to think harder and harder each time you do it. The puzzles range from simple quick math, to more observing puzzles like counting the number of certain items in a group and reading the number of syllables in a sentence. This may sound simple and a bit nieve, but can become very very addicting in trying to do it better and better every time. Little do you know that as you keep trying, you've just exercised your noggin.

Once you've trained to your desire, you then check your "Brain Age" by taking a 3 part test of unique puzzles. Upon completion, you are given a grade on how old your brain age. the younger the better. (My personal best being 21, 20 being the lowest/best) As you train more, you will unlock more puzzles like more math puzzles, and memory games. This keeps some freshness to the game as you get into it more.

Included within the game itself is a nice heaping of Sudoku puzzles. I personally never quite understood what the craze was about these logic puzzles, but I've become wildly addicted to completing them now as I've learned more creative ways to figuring them out. Give credit to a game that makes me rush for the newspaper in the morning just to do the daily Sudoku puzzle in it.

Now, once you've acquired your stellar "age", and completed all the Sudoku puzzles, Brain Age unfortunately becomes a bit boring. There's little variety here with only about 10 puzzle types to choose from.

Brain Age also tries to do some multiplayer action by offering downloadable puzzles via wi-fi cart sharing. This mode only offers 2 puzzles to challenge all your friends on who can add the fastest. This will surely last.. well... minutes.

Brain Age will appeal to puzzle fan types that love games like Tetris DS, and at the nice budget price at $19.99, this is definately one nice little addition to your DS collection in between games of Mario Kart and Metroid Hunters. Go flex that brain!
